OK.. first things first;
Belated merry Christmas to one and all!

Here's how my Christmas went:
6:30AM-I got up,with some difficulty.I always have difficulty getting up at mornings when I have exams coming.
7:30AM-I sat right down to study.Yup.Thats what I did....Student life's good,isn't it?
1:30PM- For lunch I went to my uncle's place.. They had moved to a new house and it was the house warming ceremony..I had a huge South Indian feast.Yum!
4:00PM-I sat in front of the PC and saw some weird music videos with my cousin..One of the songs is still running in my head..not that good..kind of annoying,actually...Urgh!
7:00PM-I went to my maid's palce in the evening. My maid is Christian, and they celebrate Christmas rather grandly. Also, her daughter Elizabeth and I share our birthday :)So,we're pretty close. Anyway, she had invited me over, and I went, and I ate like a hungry gorilla..Boy,those cakes were so good!
8:30PM-I was dog tired to study..I remembered the pile of portions I had yet to finish, and said "What the heck!" and threw myself on the bed... G'nite! And Oh,before I fell asleep,I sang "Jingle bells" to myself!

Pizzle came up with this brilliant idea of celebrating a Santa day. Now I love Santa Claus, and I don't mind a full month dedicated to this chubby, jolly man. Besides Santa is the ultimate symbol of pure unadultrated fun and cheer, regardless of which religion you belong to. So, I second the motion to make Dec 26th or 27th the official Santa Day!Ho Ho Ho!
On a compeletely different note,I had my Analog Communication lab exam today, and it rocked!Yooohooo!
By the way, thanks to Shari for this revelation:

You Are Socks!
Cozy and warm... but easily lost. You make a good puppet.
What Crappy Christmas Gift Are You?

P.S:Enjoy the new song!

I've never celebrated Christmas tradionally. My family doesn't think much of Christmas except that its a holiday. But for me,Christmas will always bring back fond memories of high school.I studied in a school run by a convent, and those three years,Christmas time meant singing carols(they were fun to learn),decorating Christmas treesand the crib.In short, a lot of fun!

We were around 60 girls in each class, and there was a crib competition held to see which class decorations were the best.We girls never got along in normal circumstances,as you can well imagine, but during those 6 hours of the competition,we would be united like nothing else, against the same rival;the other classes. Then there would be carol singing competitions.God,I loved those.I learnt so many carols during those times,I who never knew the words of "Jingle bells".

But the most beautiful thing about Christmas was that the girls of all religions-Hindus,Muslims and Christians would take part in the festivities with equal zest. These girls, who lived in and around a locality in Bangalore, where the highest amount of communal violence was reported. We would truly become sisters in Christmas.

Then, there was the two week vacation. We would have just finished our final round of tests for the year, and the final exams seemed so far away,so two blissful weeks of doing nothing. After all this,in the new year,we would come back to school to bitch and backbite and fight just like normal 14 year old girls do.Back to the routine.

Christmas will always bring back fond memories of high school.Even though I may never celebrate it the way it is meant to be,its a pretty special time for me.

And Micheala,this one's for you:
(Actually, its for me also...I like to sing this)

Smelly cat, smelly cat,
what are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, smelly cat,
it's not your fault.
They won't take you to the vet.
You're obviously not their favorite pet.
It may not be a bed of roses.
And you're no friend to those with noses.

Well, don't just sit there, sing at the top of your voice!

Shower Song
I'm in the shower and I'm writing a song
Stop me if you've heard it.
My skin is soapy, and my hair is wet,
and Tegrin spelled backward is Nirget.
Lather, rinse, repeatand
lather, rinse, repeatand
lather, rinse, repeat.............as needed.
