Thats a song from a recent Bollywood film.Crazy lyrics.

Anyway,HOLI HAI!!!(its the festival of Holi!!)

Its summer time in India, and the festival of colours has finally arrived.I used to play Holi(spray coloured water on each other;its great fun)when I was young. Now,its too much of a bother to get all the colours, make the water balloons. Moreover its harmful to sensitive skin.Anyway,Bangalore does not celebrate Holi with as much gusto as North Indian cities...
But childhood memories of this day are sweet, and made me dedicate this days blog to Holi(and that stupid song).

I don't know what the judge thinks, but I think Terri Schiavo's brain may be damaged, but her heart and soul are not.Just look at her smiling.Doeasn't that tell you she wants to live?I also think Micheal is an idiot. But,hey, who knows?

I was in the tenth standard when I began reading Harry Potter.Quite late, you might say,but I think whoever thinks HP is only for children has not read the books. Anyway,in my final school year I had resolved not to read fiction(I love novels and it was interfering with my studies),tenth being "an important year" and all. Now,did I keep my resolution? NO,OF COURSE NOT!Somewhere during mid-year,my friend Praju gave me a book and said;just read it.I was intrigued;whenever Praju says read this, its got to have something.I read the first chapter in the social studies period that day.I was hooked for life.

I love the concept developed by Mrs.Rowling.I love Hermione Granger.I love Emma Watson.I also love he-who-must-not-be-named,who's going to be played by the British actor Ralph Feinnes,by the way. Hey,I love him too!

I don't like Harry so much. He's too much of a central character.I like Ron,he's funny. But HP was,is,and always will be in my list of favourites.Am I being childish? I don't care.

It keeps on playing in my mind nowadays...Thats a song from the film Page 3,sung beautifully by Lata Mangaeshkar..Boy, the magic of her voice never seems to die down..The line translates like this;"How strange are relationships over here"...and it goes on to describe the topsy turvy world of Page 3 people.

I didn't watch page 3 yet, though I'm dying to.The main reason for this(the film is very good,my friends say,but thats not THE reason) is that the main protagonist in the film is played by Konkana Sen Sharma.I love her.

She's not this pretty wear-sleeveless-sarees-in-switzerland-and-prance-around-with-the-hero kind of actress.I was compeletely blown over when I watched her first Hindi-English film,Mr. and Mrs. Iyer(Her first ever film was a Bengali one and I don't know that language). You have just GOT to see her in that!

I wish I had seen it during my semester holidays, but I saw a host of other films instead of this one,and I regret it now..Now,I've finished two weeks of the new sem,and I'm already knee deep in work!

Indian Idol finalists Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana with the celebrity judge Kajol. Posted by Hello

Check out his cute "I won!" smile!

Mumbai based Abhijeet Sawant emerged as the first Indian Idol at the end of the rather tense suspense filled concluding episode of the show Indian Idol, defeating Amit Sana.
(I personally think Amit has a better voice, but what Amit lacks in face,he makes up in his fun filled performance. However seems like India liked Abhijeet's smile much better.)

When I heard them for the first time about two years ago,I thought;this is music, man! Their debut album Duur made me think this could not get any better. Then three months ago they came out with another album Dhaani and I was prove wrong.

Dhaani is an assorted collection of songs on love,admiration,sorrow and many other emotions.This is what the two band members Faisal and Bilal had to say about Dhaani;

"We were exhausted and we needed a break. So we created Dhaani around us.A thought that gave us the ability to transcend to see what was not there. To break free.Dhaani was our escape and now its yours."

You have to just listen to the songs to get lost in a world of dreams. My personal favorite is Sohniyae and Pal.There's also the Spiderman-2 soundtrack Na Jaane Kyu(don't know why).Wonderful experience.

One Thursday lunchtime the Earth is unexpectedly demolished to make way for a new hyperspace bypass. For Arthur Dent, who has only just had his house demolished that morning, this seems already to be more than he can cope with. Sadly, however, the weekend has only just begun, and the galaxy is a very strange and startling place.

I read the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy a few months ago when I was on vacation. It had me in fits of laughter. My favourite character was the confused Zaphod Beeblebrox... he was undeniably cute.I simply loved the book.

So imagine my delight when I read about the forthcoming movie!
The trailer looked like a kill and the actor playing Zaphod is good lookin too!

Check out this article on Ernst Zundel, who has a rather strange,if not disturbing ideology.Who knows, his claims may have some truth in them...History is written by the winners and contains only half the truth anyway.

The Mahabharata

Thus grew a cavernous tale
About the amity of majestic hearts
And of hugger-mugger war carts

Of putrescent dealings of evil minds
Of kings and Gods,
Of slaves and demons
With a game of dice, the story unwinds.
