....are two words that go really well together. Anyway, 15th of this month is the Sankranthi festival. Its supposed to be a big deal, the hearlding of spring season after a long, cold bout of winter and all that, but to me it's about sweets. Yup, candy. Sugrcanes, sugar idols, sugar pebbles and more sugary stuff. Its the day of diabetic sweetness, and not in a bad way too. Day after tomorrow, we eat sucrose without restraint and feed it to others too, as a sign of goodwill. Then, the day after that we endure really nice stomache aches. Yay, bring on the new year.

Speaking of new year, I wanted to post about the ridiculous amount of hype and hoopla surrounding jan 1st, but all the points I had in mind are put forth succintly in this post at Vivek's, so I won't bother. All I'm going to add is that I compeletely agree and that even during out traditional new year(
Ugadi), which comes around April, we don't make such a big fuss. Instead, we eat neem leaves and jaggery, in that order. And, might I also add that resolutions can be made on any old day of the year.

Ooh, one more thing. I was watching TV the other day with my brother( watching some show on Animal Planet and going 'Australians are crazy, mate!' in what we think is an Australian accent) and I came accross something called
India Poised. I visited the site and decided to post about it. Nothing to comment on yet, but lets see.

Shari: Thanks girl! I like it too!

Samarth: TOI makes a big deal of a lot of silly things, the latest being "Abhiash" (Oh, how I loathe these Brangelina-kind-of-words!). But I think India poised is not that silly. But lets see what the future unfolds.
Thanks for dropping by. I will drop in sometime. :)
